Day 69 cooking for the 3 bears

The famous fairy tale goes that the 3 bears ate porridge, well instead of porridge I cooked us pasta but each had an alternative version.

ER doesn't eat meat and so her version got come extra tomatoes added, this will keep her energy up as she descends on Nanny's house tonight....

Peagreen Gwins version had Chorizo added to help keep her soberish tonight as she hits the town with her friends.....
And mine had added Chorizo and a left over sausage from last night to help soak up beer as I head out to a friends stag party in town tonight....
Alas littlest child however opted out of pasta for her bottle of milk, awkward child....

How to make a Kit Kat Chunky Peanut butter

Are you enjoying the recent new additions to the kit Kat chunky range? Well there's only one winner really isn't there because of course the Peanut butter one is superb. It tastes delicious and is different. Orange is too common as is white chocolate, there's plenty of chocolate bars out there that are orange or white or even double chocolate, but few offer smooth peanut butter, (sorry if I've offended your choice of chocolate there)

Sadly whilst this is the clear winner, there are thousands of losers. Us the general public as no shops seem to have the bars in anymore. So in the Comfort In Sound kitchen we have resorted to making our own and have a step by step photo guide for you to make sure you can too.

Just follow these simple steps to peanut butter heaven...

1/ First get a regular kit kat chunky and unwrap....

2/ Get some Peanut butter in a jar and take off the lid.....

3/ Get a knife.....
4/ Dip the Knife into the peanut butter jar and get plenty of peanut butter on there...
5/ Spread the peanut butter over the Kit Kat chunky as normal as even as possible....
6/ Enjoy.....

Day 44: cookery with eldest

Mummy and Eldest decided to make Chocolate biscuits today in the shapes of animals. This was probably a test run for making her birthday cake this week. First the dough was made and the shapes were cut....

Eldest particularly enjoyed eating the dough and as told several times to stop eating it otherwise there wouldn't be any biscuits to eat once cooked.....

Once the were all cut out they were placed onto the baking tray ready to put in the oven to cook....

Then some were decorated, ER decided to make a Rasta Snail.....

And then last but not least just before bed time, it was time to sit down with a home made biscuit, warm milk and a story. What a way to end a day....

Day 37: Winter Warmers

Ahhh there's nothing better than a nice hot meal when it's cold and snowy outside. Even more satisfying is when it's homemade, the OH has made spicy carrot soup while we both have made homemade bread, something I haven't done since I was in school. Hope it tastes as good as it looks.

First we started with the mixture, my OH placed all the ingredients in the bowl as I did the hard and very important job of reading out the instructions....

Once this mixture was done it was time to ball it up and get ready for the next stage.....

Next we needed to Knead the bread, for 10 minutes, but it took us more like 15 minutes.....

Then once it had set for 45 minutes and then cooked for 15 minutes, the bread as ready to serve nice a hot with the lovely piping hot Carrot soup....

The soup as delicious and the bread wasn't bad for a first effort, next time we must measure properly the Yeast however.....
